Study Plan
MyEducationLab gives students the opportunity to test themselves on key concepts and skills. The pre- and post-tests assess students on learning objectives related to sections of the textbook and provide students with feedback on their answers and a personalized study plan based on their strengths and weaknesses. Personalized Study Plan activities may include eBook reading assignments and review, practice, and enrichment activities.
MyEducationLab then reports the Study Plan results to the instructor. Based on these reports, you can adapt course material to suit the needs of individual students or the entire class.
Classroom Video and Assessments
Analyzing dynamic videos, case studies, and student artifacts engages students in learning experiences that prepare them for classroom observation and teaching. Accompanying interactive activities and assessments help students build their teaching skills. Assignment types include:
Assignments & Activities: In these short assignments, students review a concept connected to a real teaching situation (video, artifact, case) and analyze what they observed in a series of short-answer questions.
Building Teaching Skills and Dispositions: These learning units help students practice and strengthen skills that are essential to quality teaching. They are presented with the core skill or concept, given multiple opportunities to practice their understanding of this concept by watching video footage (or interacting with other media), offered quality feedback, and then presented with an assessment to measure learning.
Tied to Teaching Standards and Outcomes
A new course structure organizes all assignments around essential learning outcomes for teachers and is mapped to professional teaching standards.
Interactive Lesson Plan Builder
This easy-to-use tool helps students create, update, and share quality lesson plans. The software quickly integrates up-to-date state and Common Core content standards into any lesson plan.
Interactive eText
MyEducationLab is available with a complete eText. Share notes. Share insights. Communicate right inside the textbook. Students and instructors can connect and share thoughts for faster and more collaborative learning. Students keep their eText after the course is over for future reference and support through their education curriculum.
The Pearson eText can be accessed online or off on a PC, Mac, iPad, or Android tablet. Click here to access your Pearson eText app for the iPad or Android tablet.
Performance Reporting
MyEducationLab easily captures data to demonstrate assessment outcomes and provide insight into student and class performance. All assignments are associated with and reported by outcome and teaching standard to help you quickly measure student results and address gaps in learning.
Students also see at a glance their own performance on every outcome and can compare their results to the class average, helping them to assess their own progress in the course.
Administrative Features, Customization, and Course Management
Powerful program-administrator features enable course administrators to create and manage course templates, course sections, and all of the course's users, including students. MyEducationLab also gives course administrators the ability to assign access/permission to other instructors and teaching assistants.
Instructor Resources and Training
MyEducationLab offers several ways for you to learn about the program and incorporate it into your course, including live online training, an online, searchable User Guide, and access to quick videos that walk you through all aspects of setting up and managing your course.
